My wife and I went on an afternoon outing walking from our hotel to see the Cathedral in Poitiers. Twas a gray day cloudy off and on. The Cathedral occupies a generous space at the end of a long downhill avenue.

Built in the transitional period from Romanesque to Gothic its one of the older Cathedrals and has lots of both styles.

The cathedral’s interior glows purple thanks to the beautiful stained glass windows. It soars up to 89 feet tall, surprisingly short for a typical cathedral.

Beautiful! It does look a bit different and I can see that it is because the two styles have been combined!
Very Interesting!
